What is the currency used in Greece?
I will be going to Greece soon and would like to know the most common means of payment and if I should plan to have cash.

Greece uses the euro (EUR) as its official currency. Credit and debit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops, especially in large cities and tourist areas. However, it is recommended to have cash on hand for small businesses, markets, and rural areas. ATMs are widely available, especially in urban areas.
It is wise to consult your bank before departure to learn about international transaction fees and exchange rates. Some banks offer cards with no foreign transaction fees or partnerships with local banks to reduce costs. Finally, avoid exchanging money at the airport or in highly touristic areas, as exchange rates are generally less favorable there.
